What is Children Sponsorship?

A children's sponsorship program is an application when a permanent resident or citizen supplies to sponsor their biological or adopted child to live in Canada. A child is eligible for children when they are dependent on the sponsor. A dependent child is not married and is under 22 years of age. A child over the age of 22 will be considered dependent when they will have any form of physical or mental disabilities.

Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for spouse sponsorship involves a lot of legal obligation; some of the considerations are:

• The sponsor has to be 18 years or older to file the spouse sponsorship application.

• The sponsor has to be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada

• Must have a clean record with no criminal charges.

• Not convicted under violent or sexual convictions

• Should not be going through bankruptcy

Application Process:

To apply for Children sponsorship, there are two steps:

• Become a Sponsor: You must first apply to become a sponsor to apply for children's sponsorship.

• Be Sponsored: Your child or children must apply for a permanent residency to be sponsored.
